Parks are a Public Health Issue

Parks do much more than merely beautify neighborhoods. They make them healthier and happier. Obama: San Gabriel Mountains designation a “social justice issue”

“What makes this particular designation so important: we heard from the community. For a lot of urban families this is their only big outdoor space. Too many children in LA County, especially children of color, don’t have access to parks where they can run free, and breath fresh air, experience nature, and learn about their environment.” - President Barack Obama
